Rooms are starting to look tired

Meals were excellent, staff were very good

We were given a room in the attic up 3 flights of stairs. Very small and for £350 I think this is disgraceful. We booked in January so there is no excuse - I suggest booking .com seek some compensation or refund their fee

The estate and location would be superb for a longer, get away type hotel however we were stopping only for one night on our North Coast 500 tour and hence for us, in retrospect, it was not ideal. It is a little out of the way requiring a drive to get to other facilities such as other restaurants. There was one staff member trying to book people in and serve in the bar. The restaurant food was excellent however the option is to pay for one, two or three courses pushes the price higher than we would like. The breakfast was excellent and was included in our room price. The room was small and in all fairness that is what we had booked. We would return if we were on a 3-4 day get away and could utilize the facitilities fully but would likely eat elsewhere for dinner to keep costs reasonable.
