I had been in communication with Zaira, who manages the property, for some months, as I was trying to establish that most of us had a room to ourselves. We mostly got there - see below. Anyhow, Zaira also arranged an extremely efficient airport pick-up for us and, as we had arrived on an early flight, she had some food waiting for us as well. Not only that but she arranged for a local woman to drive us down to the shop in San'Alfio and the supermarket in Giarre a couple of times during our stay. She could not have been more helpful. The house itself is gorgeous and in a lovely location, with splendid views of Etna as she sent out clouds of smoke. The kitchen was very well-equipped (could do with a tin-opener!) and everything was extremely favourably arranged. With a name like it has, it was as one would expect: very tastefully arranged. Although the location is quite out of the way (Zaira did recommend car-hire but I'm not confident about driving in Sicily) it suited our purposes perfectly. The swimming pool is smaller than excpected but delightful for a cooling dip. Zaira fully deserves the excellent reviews.

The matter of private rooms seems to be a problem with booking.com in Sicily (with the exception of Vulcano and Stromboli): when I put a search for 7 rooms for 7 people I get, time and time again, the offer of several sofa-beds and camp-beds in 3 or 4 rooms. We ended up mostly as we had expected, and Zaira was most helpful in establishing a sofa-bed for my daughter and a camp bed for myself in the large room downstairs. This is not really Zaira's fault but it was a bit alarming to find that though I thought we'd arranged this, it was not expected. As I said - Zaira was amazing at putting things right.

Rauhallista ja kaunista. Riittävästi tilaa ja pihapiiri oli ihana. Uima-allas siisti riittävä oleiluun. Meren rantaan mentiin autolla. Auto tarvitaan, jotta liikkuminen on sujuvaa. Aivan ihana paikka rauhalliseen loman viettoon.

Het zwembad en de geweldige views op de Etna en de zee. Een meer dan prima plek om te verblijven met familie(s) of vrienden. Daarnaast was de host geweldig. Niet eerder iemand mee gemaakt die zoveel tips gaf. Ze was enorm behulpzaam.

De accommodatie ligt wat ver van grotere dorpen. Zonder auto is het niet verstandig om te voelen.
