Hotel Château Gbeľany

This is a beautiful building; unfortunately the approach is through quite a big industrial area but don’t be dismayed - eventually you come to the chateau which has been magnificently restored. The parking lot is, counter intuitively, behind the chateau is free and again can be a little off putting but move on walk through the modern extension at the back - where the spa and pool are located - and walk through the inner courtyard to reception : marvel at the restoration! Our room, one of the cheaper ones was up and under the eaves; something I would normally veer away from but these rooms are fabulous : huge, modern, well furnished with A/Cs, great bathrooms and they are very quiet! The reception staff are charming and informative. The hotel has a restaurant with an interesting menu, well prepared dishes,beautifully plated

We thought the restaurant, which was very modern and finished with light oak tables and chairs lacked intimacy or what the Dutch call gezelligheid and the Scandinavians hygge : its quite impersonal which belies the good and quite sophisticated food and charming staff!

This is a beautifully restored grand country house in a very quiet village. We really enjoyed hiring bikes to cycle along the nearby river Vah to Strecno Castle. The pool ( indoors) was very nice, food outstanding and staff very welcoming. The friendliness of everyone was one of the nicest aspects. Our room was lovely and spacious. We attended a special dinner and despite not speaking Slovak had a fabulous time with other guests translating for us. Another highlight was climbing up the tower which had been brilliantly restored and my husband ( a caver) particularly enjoyed!)

Très beau et bon restaurant. La piscine et l’espace spa également.

Pas de fer a repasser, pas de machine à café et pas de climatisation dans les chambres. Pour un hotel de ce prix et de cette qualité, c’est un grand manque.

Good and nice place. Second Time there...

Because of one person at the front (miss T.), the expérience ended by a very ugly feeling. Ok we were late at the chekout and because of misundertandings for an upgrade, the person was very unpleasant. She should learn how to speak and be respectful to a customer !
