The location was excellent for exploring Hakone National Park

The property was in a beautiful location in the nature, the beds were super comfortable. The staff were very nice helping take our luggage from the car to our room. The breakfast was good. Fireplace was super nice to use. We really felt that we were in nature.
We could tell the rooms needed to be touched up, repainted as it was super scuffed up like it didn’t feel as clean. Also the onsen was nice but the bath itself in the onsen wasnt fine but nothing special.

The set menu was very nice, but would have liked more choice of food. A lighter menu offer instead of only set course menu would have been nice. The room service was horrible and greasy. Excellent breakfast.

The Retreat has everything you need to truly relax. The room is minimalistic and very calming with huge windows facing trees.
The food is one of best meals I ever had. The staff is very kind and thoughtful.
The room only has a shower. You can use the Onsen, but you can‘t enter with tattoos that can’t be covered with seals.
