Villa Maça Guest House

The room was lovely and bright and very clean. It had an excellent ceiling window that let in lots of light and also had a brilliant blind so that it could be like a black out blind, great for sleeping!. beds were comfy and quite firm mattress. The en suit bathroom was small but ample and very clean. The kitchen area is communal and there is a large fridge you can store food in. The kitchen facilities are basic. The location was lovely, a sweet little coastal village and only 20 mins drive from the beautiful Sintra.

There was no kettle! this was a dissappointment and only a little two ring electric hob, no oven or grill. We booked a double bed and were given two singles, they didnt even fix together so the beds easily separated with a gap in the middle, not good for a couple!

The location is excellent. A literal stone throw from the beach, and from lovely bar / restaurant / coffee spots. The actual room was comfortable, well lit and clean.

There is no staff on property. I really struggled with the automated lock pad system, (for well over an hour on arrival) and there are no staff available to assist. No one lives or stays there, or close by. Only cleaners in the morning. The kitchen area is also shared between the guest rooms. So shared fridge, and coffee machine is in the entrance / shared lounge which meant getting dressed in the morning in order to make a coffee. There is also no outdoor areas what so ever. My room had no windows, or balcony, only a sky light, and the guesthouse has no outdoor area either. This isn’t an issue based on your requirements as aforementioned there are many spots near by to sit and have a coffee outdoors, in my case I was working during my stay and would have liked to have somewhere to sit outside while having a coffee break etc. It’s just something to be aware of.

L’emplacement par rapport à la mer n’était pas mal. C’était propre et calme. Bon matelas, le lit était confortable.

Aucune fenêtre. On n’a jamais vu personne, aucun contact avec le personnel. Serviettes pas changées, poubelles pas vidées, aucun ménage de fait. Quand on prend une douche, la salle de bain est à moitié inondée. Les télécommandes (velux/store/clim) ne fonctionnaient qu’à moitié.
