Mooi huis, super schoon, keuken met alles erop en eraan, twee badkamers is een dikke plus, tafeltennistafel, heel mooi uitzicht, mega rustig, luxe gas bbq wat wij top vonden, geweldig aardige eigenaar die vlakbij woont, met alles wil helpen, een welkomstpakket met fruit en wijn etc had klaargezet en elke ochtend het zwembad schoonmaakt. Fijne restaurantjes op loopafstand in Mirthios, mooie stranden in de buurt, prima supermarkten beneden in Plakias, auto is een noodzaak.

In mirthios zelf is weinig te doen, afgezien van een paar prima restaurants, dus als je pubers hebt die beneden in Plakias naar een bar willen 's avonds moeten ze met een taxi terug. Dat is prima te doen, er is een taxistandplaats en kost een tientje ongeveer, maar het is miss minder flexibel.

Wow! Pretty much everything. The location is stupendous. Not only is Myrthios centrally placed on the South Coast of Crete, it is also a tremendous destination in its own right, especially for dining out! There are at least 3 tavernas in the village, all of which appear to be very good. However, we can’t say for sure because Dionyssos was so good we ate all three of our dinners out there. This was the taverna our host recommended most highly, and is a true gem. We could walk to the taverna in less than 5 minutes, although it was probably 10 minutes to get back up the hill after those amazing dinners. The villa was beautiful, with a wonderful view over Plakias and out to sea. The property was quiet and it really felt like we were in the country. One day we walked up the hills behind the property and explored the wildflowers, butterflies and birds. It was a short but exciting drive to Previli Beach and the string of beaches running east from there. We got to Phaistos in a little over an hour. The kitchen was well stocked and our host provided essentials to get us started. The BBQ worked well and we enjoyed 2 home cooked meals. There are good grocery shops, bakeries and a butcher shop in Plakias. We didn’t find the fish store in time to check it out. It is tucked away on a small side street running up from the beach. Our host was very helpful and came to our aid immediately when we couldn’t figure out how to work the washing machine. This is a truly wonderful place to stay.

It was tremendous. The only thing that would have made it even better were a toaster (we toasted bread under the broiler), and maybe a spatula with a long handle for the BBQ.
