Umah Anila

I stayed here for 2 nights. The family-run property is on a side street, so it is very quiet even though it was very close to everything I wanted to see in central Ubud. It can be entered through a convenience store on the ground floor and initial impressions are more cluttered than I would usually expect from a property but the rooms, located upstairs, were so peaceful, I would happily stay here again. Note that the side street access is narrow, so cars can't drive up it to drop you off. The room was fairly basic but had everything I needed. Breakfast was ordered from a limited menu via WhatsApp, with tea, coffee and a flask of hot water provided outside the room early in the morning. Bottled water was not provided in the room but was available to buy in the shop downstairs. I stayed in Room 3, on the first floor and was able to see the sunrise over the roof tops. The top floor probably has an even better view, but it was fine on the first floor (and less stairs!). It was easy to arrange a driver to take me to the next property, but allow plenty of time for the driver to negotiate busy Ubud traffic.

1. Good location. 2. The room was clean overall. 3. Breakfast was standard (toast, scrambled eggs, fruit plate).

Staff was great, and the place is charming!

Balcony is shared with other guests so it can get a bit noisy.

Great location in central Ubud. You can walk to anything. But still quiet and private because it's down a lane way, away from the street noise. Staff very warm and kind!

The room I got was quite dark, in the corner, view was of another wall outside. A lot smaller than the photos. For $30/night you're still doing good, but I booked it for the views over the rooftops that I saw in other people's reviews. I didn't find out if there was breakfast somewhere, but on my second morning there were bananas left for me outside my room which was really nice.
