Sometimes you are fortunate to experience a place that just makes you feel at peace. But also inspires you to adventure out. As you relax on your private terrace at Ayiopetra, while enjoying the bells of the goats below, an opera singer from across the valley, or, just the calm still, silence of the Gyroulas valley, you are able to slow down and recognize that it doesn't get better than this. The team here is a joy to interact with and takes a great deal of pride in who they are and the service they provide. If you're reading this, you may already be familiar with the breakfast. Perfect. 'When in Naxos' tips and island music playlists to enjoy? Perfect. Help with any requests or questions you may have? Perfect. The resident doggo, Fudge? Of course, perfect. There is a sense of place here that is a bit difficult to describe but makes sense when you spend time at Ayiopetra. The trade breeze of the valley. The inspiring Temple of Demeter and millennia of human history. Countless olive trees that have experienced all of this history. Stunning landscapes and colors across the sky throughout the day. The delicious foods and hospitality. The careful and thoughtful design of all corners of the property to give you much to ponder and appreciate. This was five days we will feel for a long time and certainly not forget.

Ayiopetra was the holiday of our dreams and then more! We stayed four nights as part of our Greek Honeymoon. The initial welcome is very homely, and you feel at once a part of the Ayiopetra family. Things then become ephemeral as you are accompanied to the outside seating area and get a view of the extraordinary Naxian valley below. The room was very lovely. The beds were delightfully comfy and there was a pillow menu if required. The bathroom was excellent and stocked with miniature bottles of high quality products. We really loved the minibar and indulged in some of the snacks on offer. The breakfast is certainly one of the highlights of Ayiopetra. It is a five course tour of local cuisine with fresh juice, bread, cheese, yogurt, eggs and a sweet treat served alongside local jams. We don’t think that we will eat a better breakfast as long as we live. The amazing thing about Ayiopetra is that there is probably no better place on Earth, and subsequently you can stay on the property for the majority of your time. We spent many hours going between the sun loungers and the pool as the quiet sun-kissed mountains looked on, regaining our energy after a busy year of work and wedding planning. Ayiopetra also benefits from being a 30 minute walk from the Temple of Demeter (also visible from the pool area) which is the main historical attention in inland Naxos. We were very impressed by the owners and the staff and left feeling that we had made new friends. Everyone was friendly welcoming, and nothing was a bother. They really took our trip to the next level. Thank you Tonia, Dimitri, Katerima, Jim and Fudge for making our stay extra special.
