Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan

The rooms were on the smaller size but well-organized and comfortable. We stayed at the property twice and our first room had a wonderful shower. Our second room had a tub shower and the tub was very slippery and difficult to manage. We would have preferred a room with a shower. The staff was great and very helpful. The location is very good. It is close to Yongsan station so the Metro and trains are readily available and the large I Park Mall is easily accessible with lots of shopping opportunities.

We would definitely have found a room with a walk in shower easier to manage.

The location. The place is surrounded by construction and hence limitation to access.

Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a problem with the door lock in my room and they helped me move to another one quickly. Hotel is close to the station - about a 10 min walk.

There shouldn't be a problem with room door locks at this price... A few days before arrival, I got a generic corporate message 'offering' quick check-in and checkout if I register for some loyalty program. Turns out one can check out quickly without registering for this program, but having to confirm that was an unnecessary worry and hassle. (I was already on a tight schedule and chose this hotel to be able to catch an early train, so couldn't afford any delays.) As others have mentioned, the layout of the bathroom is unusual. Also, you have to turn off the bedroom lights using the phone's touchpad, which is a bit finicky. A simple switch would be better. On-site restaurants are pricey.
