Although it is an older home, it is well maintained and brings a sense of nostalgia to the stay. On a personal note, the property is located 3 blocks away from family, so this location was exceptional for me. Checking in and out was easy, and correspondence from staff was prompt, very courteous, and helpful. Great place to stay!
No real issues. If anything, the entrance key could use lubrication, and some of the sliding doors were a little tight.

Schöne japanische Wohnung auf zwei Ebenen. Gute Lage 10 min zur U Bahn, eine Station zu Kyoto Bahnhof. Gute Wohnung für 4 Personen.

It’s a pretty old traditional Japanese house which is an experience if that’s what you’re looking for. However it’s very well maintained and the management has definitely put a lot of care to it. The rooms are large for Japanese standard. Sofa bed is also very comfortable. Shower is quite small but super clean and easy to use. A fantastic management team. Super attentive.
The only inconvenience are the stairs which are very steep for older people. The lock is also quite old and could be difficult to lock and unlock.

This property appears to be a relatively new structure, built in a traditional Kyoto style. It was very fun to stay in a neighborhood, in a house, with traditional Japanese architecture and lovely art. It was also fairly spacious, with 2 bedrooms upstairs and a living room and kitchen downstairs. The kitchen was well stocked, and essentials were provided. We liked the surrounding neighborhood, which has markets and great restaurants. Lovely place!
The house was a little further from the nearest subway station that we thought. Not a big deal except that we were there during a heatwave. So we ended up taking Uber rides more than we had planned. The house is tucked back, off the side street that runs by it - so it's nice & quiet, but might be a bit tricky to locate if one arrives after dark.
