The Color Hostel

The place was clean and cozy. I liked the fact it wasn’t such a big hostel. Everyone was respectful and calm. I liked nicely decorated room and friendly staff.

The street where the hostel is located is quite noisy in the evening. I was traveling with my boyfriend but I couldn’t imagine myself to walk there alone at night as a woman.

The overall inside of the property is well kept. It has everything you'd really want from a hostel. It is a great place if you just want somewhere to lay your head down in the evening while exploring Lisbon. The staff there are very welcoming and we felt comfortable sleeping here. The shared bathrooms are not a problem and are very well maintained.

The problem with this property is the uncertainty. I feel like there were some extra things to consider that you wouldn't really consider at other properties. I do truly believe that many reviews that have been left on Google are made because of racial stereotyping. I think once you stick close to one another and are smart, it's like exploring any other part of the city. The street is however, quite dirty and loud, although we had no problems once we were inside. The luggage storage area felt slightly insecure and we couldnt say with 100% certainty that our bags would still be there once we came back. But otherwise there was little more we could ask for from the hostel itself

The room is big and clean, the location is close to many eating places and local markets. There's a shared kitchen and living room. Livia the manager explained everything very clearly.

Its probably not fit for the sensitive sleeper (fortunately we are not such people) because it could be quite noisy in the night.
