It was more or less ok
Extremely small shower, extensive smell of smoke from neighbor/s, location, the heating was not working and the night felt very cold

Good location for those finishing Hardrian's Wall at Wallsend, with a bus stop conveniently near. The hosts had sent me a message warning me that it could be noisy, but the friendly crowd in the bar quietened down in mid-evening. The single room was comfortable and smartly decorated.
I had planned to leave my rucksack there before going up to Segedunum, and had expected the hotel to be clearly visible from the footpath. It wasn't. In fact, it's rather tucked away in a mainly industrial area. I had to ask for towels, and for help closing one of the bedroom windows.

Quirky with a very lively pub next door. Quiet in spite of that. Landlady was very helpful and she found us towels and drinks etc for the room. No one from the hotel around and the place seemed empty apart from us. They didn’t seem to be expecting us or really very bothered.
The surroundings were dirty and very untidy. Rubbish around and pub debris all over.
