Sofitel Grand Sopot

Staying at the Grand Hotel in Sopot and it’s absolutely fabulous. Elegant interiors, beautiful sea views, and service that makes you feel genuinely cared for. A timeless, luxurious gem right on the beach. Loving every moment.

The view, the staff, the hours and support.

The shower valve didn't work well and would go extremely hot in room 420 after a few minutes. This was all hours of the day. Overall a memorable stay, but I will watch for future issues with water in the shower.

* Great location — very convenient and well situated. * Overall, a lovely building with a nice feel. * Good breakfast — enjoyable and with a good selection. * Staff were quite nice and friendly.

* The hotel felt very dated, with old-fashioned décor throughout. * The carpet in the hallway was old and bumpy in places, you could actually trip over it. * The lighting in the rooms was terrible. It was too bright and not at all atmospheric. * The bathroom lighting was particularly harsh. If you used the bathroom during the night, the bright light would completely wake you and the children up. * They should consider using something like Philips Hue or other adjustable, dimmable lighting in the bathrooms and bedrooms, so the light can be softer at night and more atmospheric. * The light bulbs also seemed unnecessarily high-powered. * The mattress wasn’t particularly comfortable. * I was told I would have a park view, but the view was essentially just a view of a car park. * When I asked about changing rooms, I was told it would cost an additional £1,000 to move to a room on the other side of the hotel with some kind of sea view. * I didn’t feel it was reasonable to pay another £1,000 for a similar, dated room just to get a better view.
