Wivenhoe House Hotel

Rooms are very clean and tidy. No mould or dust anywhere. Immaculate. The restaurant is to die for. I've stayed here before and one of the main reasons for choosing it a second time was the restaurant. The fish of the day is fantastic and is highly recommended.

If anything the rooms are quite far away but staff offer to carry bags and direct you to your room. This is not even an issue in my opinion.

Stunning building , fabulous staff , Amazing food quality .

Hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff could not be more attentive if they tried. They looked after us so well. We had a dog with us, and could not go in certain areas, so they accommodated us in every way they could. If we sat outside, in the sheltered area we were supplied with throws , heaters, and hot water bottles. It really was a very nice experience. Because of our dog, we could only stay in a room that had a balcony, but that added to the enjoyment as it was quite and sunny 🌞. The grounds are beautiful, and fabulous for walking the dog. Colchester is a stones throw away, so it is a terrific location too.

The property was lovely, and the bathroom in the room was absolutely great. Also everything was very clean.

The room itself was not great, we were in one of the old rooms, no A/C on a very hot day, there were three fans in the room but that was not enough. The breakfast was not as plentiful as you would find in a chain hotel and the quality was just ok. For the price difference to the Holiday Inn or Delta you’d expect far better quality.
