Three Little Birds Resort

This place was such a nice stay. My room had a king bed and a single bed, loads of space to unpack my whole bag out for once, plus a really nice bathroom. The bed had a massive mosquito net over it which felt great, and the fan did the job fine since I was pretty acclimatized by this point in the trip (no air con in my room, just a heads up, they do have both fan and air con rooms so check when booking). The pool is lovely, there’s a shallow end that’d be great for little kids, and it’s tucked into enough greenery that it feels private even while you’re swimming, same goes for the chalets facing it. My patio was honestly the highlight, I had a hammock, a hammock chair, and a two seater set out there and spent most of my days just reading in the hammock. My room was near the road but it’s a quiet dirt road so barely any noise. Check in was easy too, no set time needed, and they sorted me out even though I booked last minute. Food at the on site restaurant was good and fairly priced. Parking for the scooter is behind a gate with a security guard, so that felt safe. Big bonus for the area too, The Old Plantation is nearby with amazing views, there are good dive centers close by, and Cabagnow Cave Pool (that sinkhole you jump into with crystal clear blue water) is just around the corner and genuinely one of the best things I did this whole trip.

The pool could use a scrub at the bottom. There’s some daytime construction noise from a property being built down the hill (Oct 2026), though they were respectful and quiet at night. No 24 hour reception, staff head home at night but stay pretty late. It’s not on the beach, you’ll need to drive there and pay an entrance fee since the beaches nearby are all through private land, worth it though, the sand is gorgeous and good for families, just not really a swimming or snorkeling beach. The property sits a bit far from town down a bumpy dirt road, fine with a scooter but something to know going in, and honestly I wouldn’t recommend this spot if you don’t have your own transport or aren't willing to arrange a taxi for every outing.

I know it’s maybe impossible to avoid but it was a bit annoying having to wear shoes inside and remove gecko poop constantly so you don’t step on it or lay on it. I like geckos and it’s part of life in these parts, but I never experienced so many poops before. Not sure how to fix that. The road down is long and unfortunately no tricycle went past or stopped for us, after 30mins in the sun we decided to drag our luggage the full length. I was exhausted. But also maybe just a bit of bad luck. If they had an electric pedicab or something similar to pickup I would’ve happily paid extra.

The unknown droppings from the hut,the floor was gritty to step on,the intermittent black outs,the lights were soooo dim lit I could not even see my face clearly in the mirror even with glasses on.
