We had a lovely villa. It was very spacious with good air con. However, the villa was rather sparse in terms of of furniture. The upstairs roof could be used if they redo it and put some sunbeds and umbrellas for people to use. It is such a waste of good space. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful at reception. However the staff at the restaurant are a mix bag. The ladies r much friendlier than the men. The two men at the breakfast appear not to want to be there. Also the manager of the pool bar never gives you a smile always an angry face. Never a smile and if don’t say good morning they totally ignore you. So maybe they should try to be much more friendly with the guests who after all pay their wages. One young girl in particular was very friendly and made a great difference to the start of the day.

Property was super clean, rooms spotless

Bar staff were excellent and polite apart from barmen with beard who wanted to pick a fight on any occasion. Disliked when anyone approaching that bar and order more than one drink at a time. Pulled up on 3 separate occasions because my kids left a bottle of water and 2 biscuit wrappers on balcony which the wind blew over some point during the night. I understand the bins are provided but really! I just accepted it and apologised as reception staff were amazing and helpful throughout the holiday but felt it was unnecessary.

We have just returned from a week's stay at Marelive and, overall, had a very enjoyable holiday. The hotel itself is modern, very clean and well maintained. The pool area was one of the highlights of our stay – it was pleasant, very child-friendly and the pool bar was excellent. Free on-site parking was also a big advantage. Our room was spacious, with an amazing balcony that we really enjoyed. The clothes drying rack provided on the balcony was a thoughtful touch and proved incredibly useful after days at the beach. Daily housekeeping was excellent and the room was cleaned to a very high standard every day.

There were a few things that surprised us, especially considering the price we paid for a week’s stay: On arrival, we found that we had to make our son's bed ourselves. In the bathroom, only body wash, hand wash and a bar of soap were provided – no other toiletries at all. The room also lacked a coffee machine; instead there was only a kettle with poor-quality instant coffee and very small paper cups, which felt a little disappointing for a hotel of this standard. The biggest let-down was breakfast. The sweet selection was reasonably good, but the savoury options were extremely limited, usually consisting of just one type of cheese and one type of ham, scrambled eggs, bacon and tomatoes and mozzarella to make frise. The bread often tasted a little stale, and bananas were rarely available unless we specifically asked a member of staff. Given that we were in Italy, where breakfast ingredients are usually of such high quality, and considering the overall cost of our stay, we expected a much better breakfast experience. Finally, although reception staff were polite throughout our stay, our departure felt rather impersonal. At check-out, no one asked how our stay had been or whether everything had met our expectations. It wasn't a major issue, but it left the impression that the check-out process was purely transactional rather than an opportunity to ensure guests left satisfied. Overall, Marelive is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities, particularly for families. With a few improvements to the room amenities, breakfast offering and guest experience at check-in and check-out, it could easily provide a truly exceptional stay.
