We just want to thank all of you for making our weekend absolutely fantastic. We loved every minute. The food last night in the harvest lounge was out of this world. We have never had food like it. We will definitely be back again. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Attention to detail was outstanding

Beautiful hotel.. olde world .. gorgeous fabrics, wallpaper and art everywhere.. real fire in lobby.. modern bathrooms.. chandeliers everywhere. Lovely views of countryside .. fabulous spa/ massage treatments… food very good.. young cocktail girl excellent at her job..relaxed yet luxurious ambience. Friendly guests.. not stuffy but people did dress up for dinner in Harvest Room. Relaxed friendly vibe in The Local.. lovely tasty food and beautiful creamy pints. Kevin D mingled with guests. Excellent woodland walks around hotel.. well marked.

Some young staff very slow to see needs of guests.. forgetting to bring items.. not clearing plates before serving next course.. small quibble really.

Lovely food and staff. Loved the sauna and the Gate lodge was very comfortable.

I found that holding a large group or conference meant that the communal spaces where very noisy making it hard to relax in the evening with a drink.

Our room was lovely and the cocktails were excellent

I feel like the hotel was understaffed. We had to search for someone to check us in and again to get someone to go behind the bar and make us a coffee. We then paid to get breakfast which was 25 euro. For the continental part of the breakfast, it was not a buffet. We had to order everything from the table. We asked for a couple of different things and it seemed an ordeal to bring them out. The staff would bring one item and forget the next. In reality we paid 15 euro each for yogurt and a bowl of fruit. We were waiting for everything else. There was no water for the table. I felt it was like the staff were trying their best to give out as little food as possible. We then paid an extra 10 euro for the cooked part of the breakfast which was decent.
