Fairmont Golden Prague

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We decided to upgrade to a Fairmont Gold Signature 1 King room, and the room itself was lovely. Everything was clean and well cared for, both in the room and around the hotel. The staff were very friendly, which was one of the highlights of our stay. The location was excellent, close to the luxury shops and the city centre, making it a very convenient base for enjoying Prague.

The bathrooms offered almost no privacy. In our room, even with two sliding doors between the toilet and the bedroom, there wasn’t enough sound isolation. We also saw smaller rooms with an even less private setup: only one frosted-glass sliding door between the toilet and the bedroom. Breakfast was also disappointing. At the Gold Lounge, the buffet selection was very limited, missing items weren’t replenished promptly, and à la carte breakfast orders took 20 to 30 minutes. In the main breakfast area, an omelette and avocado toast took 45 to 55 minutes to arrive. Buffet items were slow to be replenished there too, and the staff were busy and hard to get hold of. The coffee also didn’t taste good. For a luxury hotel of this standard, we expected them to get an espresso, macchiato or cappuccino right.
