Ragamaya Resort & Spa Munnar

We had a very enjoyable stay at Ragamaya Resort. By far and away the best feature of the hotel is the spectacular views over looking the Ponmudi dam. We witnessed a gorgeous pink sunset over the hills opposite us. We enjoyed the dining experience (note there are no nearby alternative options), it was about INR1,500 per meal on average and we found a large diversity of meals on the menu. The pool was stunning but small (if other guests joined). We enjoyed the afternoon tea between 5-6pm where tea and a snack is served. There is also a fire pit which is lit every evening which we thought was a good touch. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance, they waited up for us after a delayed flight into Cochin to check us in and helped us print of documents we needed for our next stay. Lastly, the hotel offered activities. We enjoyed a great morning trek down to the dam with our guide Akhil. We also did the local sightseeing tour which was about INR2,500 for two people and entailed driving around in the hotel jeep (quite fun on the winding roads) to see: a local suspension bridge, the dam wall, a viewpoint over a valley and a waterfall. There was the option to add on boating at the dam for INR1,200 pp and to go ziplining at the waterfall (INR500 pp) - we did the ziplining and loved it, best INR500 spent in all of India.

The downsides were very minor and we would still absolutely recommend the hotel. The gym was quite small, about 2m x 4m with about 4 pieces of gym equipment and a treadmill. The games room was cool with table tennis and a pool table but the pool table was not flat with the balls rolling back into the middle of the table after every shot.

everything that was offered, the location is excellent, the staff is very polite and friendly. food is good. I have baby that I was travelling with and they were very thoughtful of that. also tea time was really nice.

Exceptional staff that made my stay very comfortable and also offered me masala tea several times. The room is clean and spacious as well as the bathroom. Nice views of the lake.

Location is a bit far from attractions. Chicken in both dinners (different dishes) was either overcooked or tasted like it was made a previous day.

La vue est sublime. Le personnel est serviable souriant et attentionné. La piscine très photogénique. Les chambres sont propores et grandes.

Séjour décevant dans l’ensemble. L’entretien est clairement insuffisant : la salle de sport est sale et plusieurs équipements sont cassés. Les chaises longues sont également sales et endommagées, ce qui rend les espaces extérieurs peu agréables. L’hôtel ne propose aucune activité organisée, et il est situé loin de tout, ce qui limite fortement les possibilités sur place. Contrairement à ce qui est annoncé, il n’y a pas de véritables chemins de randonnée à proximité, à part le long d’une route, ce qui n’est pas agréable. Concernant la restauration, la nourriture est correcte mais sans plus. Un buffet standard matin et soir, sans grande variété ni originalité. En soit, ne correspond pas du tout à ce que le site internet propose.
