Beautiful, spacious room in historic barracks building, friendly staff @ reception, fantastic breakfast (and so much on offer!), free parking right outside.
Tuju Taproom for great beers and super Neapolitan, wood-fired pizza only steps away.
Also enjoyed the nearby, lovely walking track down to lake Saimaa.

The property is an old army base so immediately oyu feel the history. The staff were super friendly, excellent English which was great for a non Finnish speaker like me! Breakfast was great! Near the lake (where we saw the Northern Lights!!), had a great 'common room/kitchen' with games, books, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave. Couldn't fault it1

The location is simply superb, in the city centre. Free parking. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Something extra compared to a regular hotel is a private fridge in the room and a well-equipped shared kitchen. It was also possible to have an extra bed in the family room, so the whole family of 5 could fit in the same room.
