The Residence on Thonglor by UHG

Excellent customer service from the staff, starting with the guard, porter, front desk, room attendant, breakfast attendants. everyone was friendly and helpful. Would like to acknowledge Philip at the front desk who was extra helpful with our phone apps, among other things. We chose this location because it was walking distance to a clinic from which I received treatment. 10 minute walk to a market, or hotel shuttle was also available. 7/11 across the street, as well as restaurants. Mileage wise, it is not that far from downtown, but took 20-60 minutes depending on traffic. Avoid rush hour! Breakfast was okay with a variety of dishes, but being vegetarian, my choices were limited. I do eat fish when there is nothing else, but fish was served only once during our 10-day stay. Room was basic, clean, and beds were very comfortable. There is a massage place in the hotel. Was very satisfied with my massage therapist and it cost a lot less than the US. Overall, for the price we paid, this is a good place to stay.

TV programs very limited, and mostly in Thai. lack of vegetarian or fish dishes, however, I do realize that in that culture, vegetarianism is not as popular as it is in the US, so I am not faulting them.

Great location and great staff

Good value short stay, convenient location for canal boat access, huge comfortable rooms, but street noise is very loud. Bring earplugs! Residence on Thonglor is a very decent property, but it's in need of some refresh work. New windows are desperately needed, both for noise and leaks during heavy rain.

Its farther away from BTS skytrain line, and there are fewer nearby restaurants at that end of Thonglor. While the full kitchen is nice to have, there isn't a good grocery store nearby, so not overly useful.
