Commençons par le début. La porte d’entrée s’ouvre mal et mène un bruit d’enfer. Assez pour déranger l’édifice au complet. Si simple à réparer!!! Que dire de l’étroitesse de l’escalier intérieur. Difficile de monter nos valises aux étages. La propreté est de surface. Les serviettes ont beaucoup de vécu.

Trop peu de vaisselle même pour de courts séjours (utilité du lave vaisselle ?) Cela mériterait d’autres ustensiles de cuisine, saladiers… Canapé-lit dans la salle peu confortable Pas de rangement pour vêtements sauf un seul portant ; manque un meuble de salle de bains (aucune possibilité de poser les trousses de toilette) Belle décoration certes, mais rangements à compléter Nuisance au niveau des pas des voisins du dessus (boules Quies nécessaires pour ceux qui ne veulent pas être dérangés dans leur sommeil)

Lovely charming place in the heart of Alfama with close proximity to cafes and transportation.

There are some very steep stairs which were not a problem for us as we had hand luggage only. The towels needed updating and the condiments need replenishment. But other than that it was a really clean and convenient place to stay for a couple of nights.

There are some clear advantages to these apartments. The location is excellent, the apartment is reasonably well equipped, and there is everything you need for a stay. We also appreciated the small welcoming touches, two tea bags, two coffee capsules, and some seasonal fruit were left for us.

However, overall, we were very disappointed with our stay. First of all, as soon as you enter the apartment, you immediately notice an incredible level of humidity. The apartment felt constantly damp, to the point that our bed and bedding felt wet throughout our entire stay. This was extremely uncomfortable. Another thing that immediately stood out was how dark the apartment is. Although there is artificial lighting, there is practically no natural light at all. There is only one small window facing the street, which was very different from how the apartment appeared in the photos. There is also a significant issue with mold. The bathroom has a considerable amount of mold, as well as insects, and the toilet seat is very old and worn. The electrical outlets are also in poor and damaged condition. The apartment is also quite noisy. And I am not talking only about street noise. We could hear the neighbors upstairs very clearly, including practically every step they took and the noise of people walking on the stairs. The bathroom door is another problem. It touches the ceiling, does not close properly, and makes an incredibly loud noise whenever it is opened or closed. But the worst part of our stay was finding a cockroach walking around inside the apartment. It was absolutely disgusting and, for me personally, completely unacceptable. When we informed the apartment about the cockroach, we were told that this can happen because the apartment is on the ground floor, and that they would send a cleaner to mop the floor. I found this response very disappointing, as the presence of insects inside the apartment should not simply be treated as something normal that guests have to accept.
