Rajavilla Lombok Resort - Seaside Serenity

Well situated resort, with very caring and polite staff, they go above and beyond for you and they add massive value to the resort. Lovely common pool area with a view to die for and lovely property well taken care of. We liked the breakfast because they also have traditional Indonesian breakfast food, delicious fresh juice and a variety of fresh fruits to choose from. Easy to catch a Grab ride to the centre or one of the tourist attractions in the vicinity. The villa where we asked to be moved has a really lovely infinity pool and you are surrounded by nature.

The property itself is actually quite old and showing it, it was probably beautiful 15 years ago but we were shocked at the current state of our original room (Ocean deluxe) so we asked to be moved to the villa which improved things a little bit (hence the grading 8, otherwise it would have been lower in our opinion). Old, squeaky furniture that is falling apart at the edges, mould in the bathroom, doors that you have to almost force open, absolutely no soundproofing so you can hear your neighbours all the time. This also shows in the common pool area with damaged loungers, bird poop on the coushins and old, stretched bath towels. The owners really must do some upkeeping if they want to continue calling this an upscale resort. They offer really expensive day trips so we found cheaper alternatives (via Grab or hire a local driver yourself).

From the minute we arrived the staff were welcoming and warm. Our Ocean Suite exceeded our expectations with beautiful views and THE most comfortable bed. We loved it so much we extended our stay and spent all of our 10 days on Lombok there and used it as a base to travel by scooter all over the island. Everything from the infinity pool, yummy breakfast, great restaurant, beautiful barista made coffee to the (much frequented!) happy hour, handy room service and beautiful room refresh every day - we couldn’t have asked for more. It has to be said that the most special part about Rajavilla is the staff - we were greeted by name with a smile by each and every member of the team and were genuinely sad to say goodbye to them all. Special shout out to Putu who showed us so much care and warmth - she is an asset to the business. Rajavilla helped us to the best holiday we have ever had x
