Harlem Grand

I really liked the location and the fact that the hotel feels like a home. The neighborhood was very pleasant and quiet—I slept like a baby. I also felt very safe outside, even at night. And why does it feel like home? Because it’s an old building with a lot of positive energy. We received perhaps the warmest welcome I’ve ever experienced at a hotel—courtesy of an incredibly kind lady. Also, you don’t wear shoes inside—just like we do at home.

It’s just a minor detail. We’ve already mentioned it to the lovely lady there. I don’t mean anything negative by it; it’s just good to know. If you happen to be there during cold weather and the room lacks air conditioning, unfortunately, you can’t let in any fresh air—the windows cannot be opened. That’s not her fault, though. At least there is a ceiling fan in the room.

What a truly beautiful place, full of character and soul! Decorated with so much taste, one could feel how much care and love went into creating this little guesthouse. I just loved being in my room, surrounded by all the beautiful things. Staying in Harlem Grand was an experience in itself, adding to all the fantastic things New York has to offer. The location is great, I love Harlem but also access to downtown was super easy and quick as the guesthouse is 5min walk to an express metro line. And above all, it was such a pleasure to meet the owner of this place - what an interesting and lovely person, she made the stay so personal, I wish we had more time to talk. After meeting her, I can see why this place has a real soul. Thank you for creating it.

Nothing, it's perfect!

The location was ok

Kind of like staying at grandma's where you have to follow lots of rules. Like turning everything off when we leave the room. Including the AC, which is just ridiculous esp in Aug. And having to take shoes off once inside. And having the TV obstructed by furniture instead of mounting it or just getting a smaller TV. And the threat of being charged $150 if you make one mistake and forget "the rules"
