The lobby was impressive and ornate
The ‘Idyllic garden view’ was actually a view of the roof of the rest of the hotel.
The pillows were so soft that even when asking for a firmer pillow I was given yet another soft one so ended up sleeping on a couple of towels instead. Despite asking for the steam and sauna to be turned on and being told they would be nothing happened and we left the cold pool and a half later.The ‘mini bar’ consisted of two small bottles of water in the fridge.

Le calme.
Le petit déjeuner avec large choix
La place de parking réservée durant le séjour n’est pas disponible un apres midi
Le pourboire pour le restaurant est mis d’office dans la note finale sans demander mon consentement.
Aucune attention (fleur, friandise..) pour l’anniversaire de mon épouse qui a eu lieu pendant le séjour. Pourtant l’information a été donnée au réceptionniste à l’accueil.

Breatfast was great, so was the overall grandness of the building, it felt good to be in such a historic villa.
The whole experience felt transactional and much too businesslike. There was no sense of personal attention by staff. The gardens were not attended to, looking neglected. It felt the hotel was fantastic in the 90s and early 2000s and has lost its appeal. It could be so much better though if staff would make people feel more at home, welcome, and would be adding little personal touches. I had bought the stay as a birthday present and expected it to be more special.
