Hotel Garni Snaltnerhof

Excellent location on the town’s main street directly across from the bus stop. There is convenient parking in an underground garage behind the hotel for €10 per day. You can drive on the pedestrian only street and park in front of the hotel to unload your luggage. Nice Bavarian style décor inside and out. Small lobby area with an elevator (lift) to the rooms. Our room was small but marginally adequate for an overnight stay. There was a wardrobe closet, but no luggage rack and very tight space to put your luggage. No desk, just a tall shelf with a stool. There was a sufficient number of electrical outlets, TV, WIFI, small safe, but no refrigerator. Comfortable large double (US King size) bed. An adequate-size bathroom. Nice breakfast dining area, breakfast buffet with the usual items, nothing special.

I would have rated this hotel a 9, except for these issues: The pillows were very flat and uncomfortable. The duvet was very heavy and too hot, there is no A/C, but probably not needed most of the year. There was very limited counter space in the bathroom to put your toiletry items. The walk-in shower was very small and would not be suitable for larger people. The shower head was inexpensive, as were the low-quality shampoo/body wash. Not a big negative but be aware that European hotels don’t provide wash clothes, and shampoo and conditioners are often limited, or of poor quality, we bring our own. The hotel price was on the high side for what you get, but typical for region.

It is very central in Ortisei, and was perfect for our trip up to Seceda.

No room water, tea or coffee facilities. Shower tray base/floor was very slippery when wet.

Location, staff, breakfast Location was in town right across from the pedestrian section everything was very close. The staff was warm and welcoming Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold selections.

Room price, poor room view and no free parking The room price as compared to other hotels. While the room was nice and roomy, the view was obstructed. Plus, if you opened the window there was road noise and restaurant cleanup noises.
