1851 Bar - Hotel - Cinema

We stayed here for one night as part of a cycling holiday along the Rhine. Our bicycles were stores securely in a bicycle room within the hotel. The room itself was comfortable, but we had an issue with the layout (see below) We had a lovely breakfast. The Manager was really friendly and helpful.

Our room was an open plan design with no door to the bathroom and toilet. The bathroom area was separated by a wall at the head of the bed, but was open to the room on either side. We disliked the lack of privacy for the toilet. The bathroom area didn't have obscured glass, so we had to keep the blind down.

The room was a bit tight but good enough for one or 2 nights.

Very warm welcome. Very friendly owner, she came and show us the room, help us with luggages. Excellent breakfast with excellent service. Indoor storage for our bikes.

The room was a little small. But not a big deal at all.

Very friendly staff. Located just a few steps from the old center. The breakfast coffee was very good. As was the muesli and yogurt.

The bathroom was so small, that in order to open the door, we had to close the window first. The clothes hanger was in the bathroom. There was no bar of soap, or liquid soap, or shampoo, until we asked. Also no floor mat. We had to go back downstairs to ask for the wifi password, as it was not printed anywhere. The television cable did not always connect. The breakfast was bare, and we had to keep asking for more. The others guests asked as well. There was only 1 croissant per 2 people on each table. The one thin slice of cheese was processed, not what one expects in a country known for its cheese. Putting out so little food, instead of a big basket of bread, etc. puts the customer in the embarrassing position of having to ask for more, every few minutes. It felt a little like begging.
