Royal Britannia Hotel

The location is excellent. Right on the harbour in Ilfracombe, beautiful. We had a deluxe double room with a bath that looked out over the harbour. The room itself was very nice, clean and quirky in an old-fashioned way.

The bathroom was a little bit tired but quite often they are in these older hotels. Could do with a freshen up. If nothing else perhaps re-point the grouting and give it a good hard clean. But it was okay for our stay. It wouldn't stop us going back. We didn't eat or drink in the bar or restaurant. But why would you in ilfracombe. There is such a large choice of other places to go. The bar tended to be filled with middle-aged locals but hey, the hotel needs to make his money somehow and there's no way it can rely on guests for the restaurant or bar when there is so much more local competition.

Such a good location and really nice staff. Good breakfast and great views. Comfortable room.

Lovely big clean room with beautiful views. Bed was very comfortable.

The only negative was the shampoo provided. There was no conditioner and it left my hair feeling awful.

The Brit is the best located hotel in Ilfracombe sitting on the Harbour with a fabulous terrace

The staff didn't appear to know what they were doing. Breakfast deal advertised but not given with several contrasting messages within minutes. Such a shame the Terrace wasn't an inviting space for Breakfast. Beautiful staircase to rooms
