First, we would like to acknowledge the exceptional views from the hotel. The surrounding scenery and the natural beauty of God’s creation were truly breathtaking, and this was by far the highlight of our stay. The overall aesthetics and appearance of the hotel also have a certain charm. Very cosy and cute. We got a nice welcome drink on arrival and we arrived on Monday evening and on Mondays they do a buffet of cake selections so we got to enjoy that toward the end of it. Again, very beautiful sight of the mountains along with the view of the pool. We had a pool view room. One night we brought our own food back to the hotel, and asked if we were allowed to eat it in the bar area. The owner of the hotel (we think) allowed it, as long as we ordered a drink. That was nice of him. As you are 30 minutes up a hill, so there aren’t many restaurant options and we had been traveling for over a month, and didn’t want restaurant food at that point.

Reception and Customer Service. Before we got our welcome drink, a young girl out blonde hair who was working at the bar/restaurant area, walked past us probably 3-4 times before she went behind reception desk to check us in and give us the welcome drink. So we were all just standing there wondering if someone was going to serve us. She was friendly though However, during the next two days of our stay, the receptionist was an older lady and she did not come across as approachable or welcoming, and we felt uncomfortable asking additional questions. Her manner came across as quite rude and lacking in customer-service skills. Not sure if that’s just her personality but working in that industry, her manner should be different. Reception is the first point of contact for guests, and first impressions are extremely important. We believe guests should be greeted with friendliness, warmth and a genuine willingness to assist. Upon entering the hotel room, there was a strong musty and stale smell, which appeared to be coming from the aged carpet. In our opinion, the carpet either requires replacement or being steam-cleaned. The room also lacked several facilities that we would normally expect from a hotel: * There was no mini refrigerator. * There was no kettle or facility for making tea or coffee. * There was no air conditioning. * We could not comfortably leave the windows open during the night because of the mosquitoes, which made very difficult to get adequate airflow and resulted in a poor night’s sleep for both my wife and me In all our travels, this was the first time we have experienced a hotel room without basic facilities such as a kettle for tea and coffee. We believe these should be standard amenities for guests. We also noticed that the flooring/lining was delaminating from the bottom of the pool which added to our concerns about the overall condition of the pool.

Amazing location and views, loved the family-run style, spa was perfect, lots of homemade touches & all the food was excellent!

We had requested a room with a view for our honeymoon and this was ignored.

You could not beat the views! The food was excellent. The hotel was clean, the room well appointed, and the staff friendly and helpful.

We aren’t used to the type of roads and driving needed to get back and forth from the hotel to where our daily activities were. This obviously has nothing to do with the hotel itself and we noticed similar hotels in the area were the same. Narrow roads and tight turns that require your attention. If this is not to your driving comfort level, it may need to be considered. The length of the dinner meals is also not what we normally are used to. The multi course meals, though the food was excellent and the staff attentive, was a bit long for us, running usually a couple hours. For some, the length is common and even traditional for the area, we just move at a different pace.
