Hotel Lido

For us this hotel was a walking back in time. The hotel is right on the lake shore. It has a large parking close by. The breakfast was good and varied. Very kind staff.

Location- right in the center if Siofok,

Ah! I only stayed for one night, so it was good for me. Overall, it reminded me of my childhood- I grew up in the 1980s/90s Poland, so it was quite rough and basic. The stay in Lido was like going back in times, so all positive, but it brought in the basics and roughness, too. For anyone entering the hotel, I would advise lowering expectations.

The location is excellent if you’re looking for a combination of a beach holiday and vibrant nightlife. The hotel is right next to the entrance of Siófok’s main beach and the Petőfi Promenade, the heart of the town’s nightlife. The building dates back to the socialist era, which gives it a distinctive retro character. While it has been modernized, it has retained its simple, functional style rather than trying to be a luxury hotel. The price-to-value ratio is excellent.

The breakfast selection was quite limited, although it was reasonably priced and somehow matched the property’s nostalgic socialist-era atmosphere. This is not the hotel’s fault, but during summer nights there are incredible numbers of flying insects around the beachfront and on the balconies.

The Plázs is near, the panorama is beautiful. You can see the Balaton from a bird's view, even from the end of the common corridor. All rooms have balcony, the rooms themselves were cozy.

Unfortunately the breakfast was terrible. Soggy breads like they were many days old, the hams were really low quality. The eggs looked like this very smashed to the wall before serving. I would not have it again. They charge 4000 huf/day for airco, which should be included already in the quite higher price (+ side that they work really well). Overall, very noisy area, which can be expected in Siófok, so that would not be a negative, but expect this if you go for a calm time. At night, it can also be a bit noisy. But it is close to the popular party location - this was expected.
