An Unforgettable Stay at Bettei Soan – A True Japanese Experience! My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Bettei Soan in Minami Aso! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendliest, most amazing staff who made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our entire visit. Their warmth, kindness, and attention to detail made the experience truly special. The views were breathtaking, with the beautiful surrounding scenery creating such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The traditional Japanese food was absolutely superb, both dinner and breakfast were highlights of our stay. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared and offered a wonderful taste of authentic Japanese cuisine. The area itself is beautiful and has so much to explore, making this a perfect place to slow down, enjoy the scenery, and experience the charm of Japan beyond the busy cities

Nothing

As Americans, I wanted to share the traditional ryokan experience with my family. Our daughter loves everything Japanese, so she was in heaven with everything (food, accommodations, kimono, and the decor). The staff was on point and even came out to our car and brought us umbrellas when we parked and carried in our luggage from our rental car.

Again, for me and my wife-we aren't as adventurous with our food selections. So a western sushi restaurant has a lot more Americanized versions and the traditional Japanese meal we had was a bit out of our comfort zone-but we signed up for the full experience and totally got it!

Every staff is helpful and cheerful.

The food is slightly below our expectation.
