Hotel Plaza

We stayed here for one night as part of a cycling holiday along the Rhine. We were able to store our bicycles in the hotel's secure garage. The room was comfortable and the staff friendly.

Firstly, my sister and I arrived before the 3 pm arrival time....by several hours. We asked if there was a secure place to leave our luggage while we explored the city until check in time. The front desk was staffed by a young lady that immediately accommodated us - friendly, spoke excellent English, and - best of all - was able to offer us a room right then. The front entry to the hotel was clean and welcoming - thank you for the haribo sweets! The cleaning staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and pleasant. The beds were comfortable and the room quiet and dark. We liked the card insert at the door to control energy.

The "bar" was unstaffed when I went down to get a coffee (which I was told I could get there) and I waited within view of the reception desk for help without luck. I ended up going to the front desk to ask if the bar was open and could I get help there. And I waited again longer than I thought was welcoming. However, the front desk person came over eventually and served me. Small matter, but I found the bar unstaffed another time with a wait (and I gave up). Maybe that's something to address. But, it's a small matter.

Nice hotel, good breakfast, excellent location near the main rail station and the Lehmbruck Museum as well as very friendly staff!

Property is very close to HBF and have fitness centre and Sauna for guests.. Front desk is very helpful and greets us with a big smile
