Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa is a beautiful resort. The architecture and overall design are amazing, and the number of swimming pools really makes it stand out. It’s a great choice for a family vacation because you can easily spend your entire stay at the resort without needing to go anywhere else. The beach is also beautiful, peaceful, and right in front of the property.
The most annoying part was the horse riders stationed right outside the resort’s beach entrance. There was horse poop around the area, which caused an unpleasant smell, and the riders repeatedly approached us offering rides even after we had said no several times. For a resort of this standard, this really takes away from the otherwise beautiful and peaceful beachfront experience.
The halal options at breakfast were also quite limited, which was disappointing for us.
Another issue was the overall value for money. Considering the premium price of the resort, very little was complimentary beyond the room and breakfast. Even many of the children’s activities were chargeable. At this price point, small inclusions such as complimentary poolside drinks, a kids’ meal, or some included children’s activities would have made the experience feel much more worthwhile.
Lastly, there were quite a few loud and unsupervised children around the pool areas. Some were behaving quite wildly, and we didn’t see much intervention from the staff. As parents travelling with a young child, there were moments when this made us concerned about our child’s safety.
Overall, it is a stunning resort with fantastic pools, beautiful architecture, and a lovely beachfront location. We enjoyed our stay, but better management of the beach entrance, more halal breakfast options, a few complimentary inclusions, and better supervision around the pool areas would make the experience much more deserving of the premium price.
