It was very spacious, it was located near numerous spots, a Shopping Plaza, and it's only a short walk to the Karuizawa Station.
There was really not much to dislike about the area. Just wish it wasn't so expensive

We were deeply touched when the hotel manager noticed how exhausted we were from carrying our heavy backpacks and surprised us with a generous, unexpected room upgrade. Our spacious second-floor room, easily accessible by elevator, possessed wonderful historic charm with classic furnishings, making our three-night stay absolutely comfortable. Nestled in a beautiful, serene forest setting, it was the perfect base for exploring Old Karuizawa. Great service and great employees.

Good location, about 15 mins walk from the station and midway between station and old Ginza town. Also quite a few eateries around the area.
The property was cosy but felt a bit dated.

The room was spacious, with a bed, a sofa, a kitchen and our own bathroom.
The staff was very professional and helpful.
The breakfast was good, especially the French bread as my husband ate dozens of it
Actually it is an issue in whole Japan. Despite the fact that the hotel is well located, the premises are really aging. The decoration, textures, electronics... It was -10 degrees outside and the heater was so old and inefficient, we were freezing. The staff gave us 2 more blankets and a portable heater, that we had to turn on every 2 hours... It wasn't was I expected for a peacefully retreat in Karuizawa. I had to wake up at night to avoid getting cold. Honestly, for this price it's shameful.
