Hotel Bamby

Very well placed hotel, on a pretty quiet side street leading directly from the main railway station to the beach area. The station was about 10 minutes walk, the beach boulevard with its handy shops less than that. The room was not especially luxurious, but had everything you might reasonably expect. Plenty of clothes storage, good lights including at the bedside and ample electrical outlets which accommodated both Italian and standard European plugs. The double bed was very clearly two singles pushed together with an easily identifiable ridge. That didn't stop me sleeping well, though the room did get cold and the quantity of bedding could have been augmented. No extra blankets or duvet were provided. All the staff I met were friendly and spoke at least some English or German. Reception staff were very fluent in English. The breakfast buffet was first rate with a wide choice of items, all in spotelssly clean conditions and kept that way by frequent staff checks. A very pleasant stay.

There was an awkward step down from bathroom to bedroom which caught me out a couple of times. Bathroom window could not be closed (only form of ventilation), so some noise from that and rather cold bathroom in the morning.

The staff were exceptionally great and kind! Nice location, nice breakfast! They also have parking on-site and a parking garage! Highly recommended!

Clean, nice staff and nice breakfast.

The single room is too small and extremely old. Needs major renovations to meet 3-star hotel standards. Additionally, there was a lot of noise from the ac machines since the room is at the rooftop and it made it difficult to sleep.
