A true gem, this out-of-the-way historic property has the virtue of extensive grounds to walk in, spacious lawns, luscious planting, family temples...like a secret garden. My room wasn't quite the Mughal fantasy expected, but it was very comfortable, with high, firm beds, lovely linens, a smart, and very good bathroom. Every room has an individual terrace, some under porches, with views across the lawn.. So, no corridors, and slamming doors from rowdy customers.
There's a lovely restaurant serving good food, though sadly no beer (hoped for after a long journey to get there), good breakfast too. Very attentive and helpful staff make this a top choice.
A few comments only: the area outside the Deobagh is not great, so transport is necessary. And unpleasant floodlighting, so common in India, spoils the nighttime effect and should be removed. Deobagh is beautiful. Neemrana should preserve that beauty as much as possible.

Neemrana Deobagh was a pleasure to stay in. The standouts were the beautiful temples and temple ruins within the property, where you can sit and soak in Gwalior's history without the crowds. The food at the restaurant was very good, the gardens were lovely to walk around, and the service was gentle and attentive. And with the rain, more than a peacock came out and danced right in front of our room. Overall, it is a heritage property in Gwalior that is well worth at least a night's stay.
It is slightly farther from the railway station and airport than some other hotels in Gwalior. The city itself is quite compact, but traffic can be difficult at certain times of the day. And, as with many restored properties, some elements, such as the plumbing, had occasional hiccups.
