THE HOTEL YAKUSHIMA ocean & forest

The view is wonderful and the staff was very helpful. Also it’s very convenient to have a day trip with the hotel organization. The breakfast buffet is amazing, the cafe for lunch was good and the evening is good too.

I found the building itself to be a little dated. The air conditioning in the room was quite noisy, as was the small refrigerator. The air conditioning in the café was also fairly loud, which made the atmosphere a little less relaxing. From the outside, the hotel also looks somewhat old, and it was a shame to see the former swimming pool looking rather neglected. It’s a bit far from everything so if you don’t rent a car you could need a bus (which is like one per hour). But otherwise if you stay for few days it’s ok… Considering these points, I think the room rates could be a little more competitive.

Fantastic hotel, beautiful location, very comfortable Japanese-style room, if you like futons. Breakfast was excellent, the kaiseki dinner was the best I've had in Japan, a real treat for sashimi lovers. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly. A huge thank you to the lady who helped us find a rental car on July 25th.

It's very convenient with the bus stop infront of the hotel. The staff is incredible (most of them).

One staff member was not so nice.
