Historisches Hotel Bären

The hotel was in a quiet village high in the mountains. We had an excellent room - in the top floor looking out to the mountains. There was even a ski lift working for a ride up the hills. The breakfast was good.

Actually i loved it

The concept of being in a hot tub whilst looking at the mountains is genuinely a nice experience.

Basically everything: - the hot tub is nice, but the whole terrace is just concrete slabs and hardly welcoming. - the building is best described as in disrepair with walls in the hallways bellowing out and cracking; a hole in the wall in our room, ... - the whole decor tries to be classical chic but fails miserably, like the bathroom having a dark grey linoleum wall liner everywhere making it more like a dark hole. - the breakfast area has nice classic chairs and the view is great, but the breakfast platter was one the most basic ones I've seen. And then, perhaps the worst part, the whole reception and staff. While being there for 3 days, we spoke to 1 person, which wasn't to welcome us. Nope, that was just an empty place with a key locker and not even an explainer where the room actually was. No information on hikes or such. No, only to tell us that the parking space we used in this deserted empty town with nothing to see was extra. I planned this trip for my partner's birthday. I told them as much, send a message ahead of time asking if any kind of arrangement could be made. This got duly ignored. But more money, sure... Ps: they claim to be dog friendly, but when asking almost 15% extra for it, it just ain't true.
