Royal Hotel Saigon

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location. It is close to a red tourist bus stop, restaurants, markets and the 'walking street' is just out the front! Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good too!

The location was absolutely great for everything. Extremely easy to move around and find activities. Still the rooms felt calm and quiet for us. The staff was extremely lovely and welcoming everywhere.

This is just a very western point of view probably but the breakfast ends a little too early (9:30) especially because from around 8:45 forwards there are items that have already run out and by 9:15 you are instructed to get everything you want so they can already start clearing. Another thing about breakfast is that it’s hard to understand why in a country which is a promised land for fresh fruit, there was no fresh fruit juice at breakfast, just some sugary stuff that isn’t very fresh. Otherwise great Asian options and lovely staff there as well. A slight minus for us was the interaction with the room cleaning. I don’t particularly like a lot of conversations about using the do not disturbe on our door and questions about when they can come and clean the room. It was most likely coming from kindness and all but wasn’t very comfortable having a conversation about that or the room cleaning in general. I am the type of private fancy pants who likes to not have a lot of interaction concerning that. The surfaces weren’t cleaned very well in the bathroom but everything else was in order with the cleaning. The warm water took forever to come but the water pressure was all good.
