This hotel is amazing. It is off the beaten path in northern Kyushu but the drive to it takes you through some gorgeous scenery. The views from our 6th floor room were breath-taking, the onsen was great, and both the kaiseki dinner and breakfast were highlights as examples of great japanese food. The staff were helpful and many spoke some english. We were the only westerners there and we were made to feel very welcome. And we loved the fact that we could go to dinner and breakfast in the loungewear they gave us. (and they have up to 3XL for westerners!)

Modern hotel but in very traditional Japanese style. Dinner in the Japanese restaurant was exceptional and breakfast was excellent. As first time onsen users my wife and I soon got used to the rituals and enjoyed our lengthy visits enormously. With a variety of indoor and outdoor pools set against magnificent mountain scenery, this was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.

We found it faultless.

Dinner meal was creative and delicious. Number of spa pools and sand bath experience.

Despite the nice design and decoration, the facilities appear to be out of regular cleaning e.g. dust and spiders net on the decor, foot spa, souvenir shop terrace. We are surprised by the cleaning standard which is usually high in Japanese up market onsen hotels. Also, all plantations in the terrace outside the Japanese style room were almost dead.
