Butterfly Lodge

The serenity and gardens are beautiful. The staff cannot do more for you, anything you need from drivers ( excellent), guides (wonderful) and generally anything you needed was immediately taken care of. The proximity to the lake is awesome and it's a quiet and friendly area with local cafes, little shops and quaint walking areas. It is a lovely older hotel with great rates and all you need for a relaxing holiday

This is an older hotel so it has to be expected to have some small issues. No television ( which didn't worry us) bathrooms were quirky with funny water run offs, so get ready to mop the excess water away after a shower...bedding could be updated but all in all that isn't a huge issue. Be prepared it is older and could do with a revamp, but for the cost it's fantastic. What it lacks in ammenties is more than made up because of the wonderful staff and calmness it brings

Good staff good location

Quiet, clean spacious rooms with large bathrooms. The L shaped building surrounds a large open grassed courtyard, which all rooms look out over. Excellent peaceful location close to everything, and with a delightful old world charm. All staff were very genuine and helpful. Definitely make this iconic lodge your place to stay in Pokhara. Another very good reason to stay is that a portion of the profits go to supporting impoverished kids in Nepal. We had the good fortune to meet the owner Govinda who is a kind, generous warm-hearted man. We extended our stay because we were very comfortable at Butterfly Lodge, and everyone made us feel so welcome. It is pleasant to sit on the balcony at the breakfast restaurant and watch the world go by in the street below.

Ive stayed here multiple times. Its in the heart of lakeside but its set back from the road and its quiet. Rooms are huge, bathroom always had hot water, beds were comfortable and everyone who works there is really kind and helpful. They will look after your bag securely if you need to go trekking. This was really important given i was staying a long time and had a lot of gear. I had no qualms about leaving my big bag with them and it would be safe. no doubt i will be back, its a reliable and safe place to stay and its pretty quiet. i.e its not a party place, so its perfect. Can only recommend.
