The staff are all worthy of mention. Everyone, from porters/concierge, to reception and housekeeping and the security staff at the door. They are all really lovely. They go out of their way to help and I appreciated their warmth and hospitality.
Location is the biggest plus. As a visitor to Dhaka, this is where you should be. Just 2 mins from the centre point in Gulshan circle. There is a small shopping mall next door with a Unimart and a food court.
The room size is decent and the bed is comfortable.
Breakfast. I was happy with it. There was plenty of variety for starting the day which I appreciated.
There were just too many issues to give it a more positive rating. My room overlooked a building site and the noise coming from it was too much and it didn't stop from morning to late evening. Hot water. Only after the third time asking for help was I told that it takes a while to come through. It can take up to 10 mins. On the third day of my stay we had no hot water at all for several hours in the morning. There was confusion about this initially but then I was told it was the entire hotel. Their boiler needs some serious maintenance.
Laundry that I gave to them was dry cleaned so still smelt when I got it back, even after specifically requesting it to be washed properly, not dry cleaned.
AC is powerful which is essential in Dhaka but the noise coming from it was loud and so sleeping for me was difficult.

This is my second stay at the Hotel Bengal Blueberry. The hotel is centrally located with restaurants, shopping stores, UNIMART in the vicinity. The hotel room was clean, comfortable with good amenities. A special thanks to reception staff Urmi, Shadat and Asad for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality . They were extremely helpful during my stay.
