Pousada Canto da Baleia

I loved the location. It was beachfront and within a short walk to the restaurants and tour boats of Praia dos Anjos, yet far enough away to escape the noise and crowds of that neighborhood. The large Praia Grande with excellent sunsets was about a 30-minute walk. The Pousada was clean, had a decent breakfast, and their staff were hospitable and helpful.

The wi-fi was slow and sometimes became inaccessible. The Pousada said that this happens with iPhones. The Pousada’s staff were able to access the same server using an Android phone. The rooms were small and basic. The bed didn’t have a headboard. There was no place to hang clothes except for a single coat rack.

Warm and friendly staff, helpful, generous, polite, patient.

Its not beach front pet say but great value for what it is, close to everything and so there really isn't anything to complain about.

We stayed at Pousada Canto da Baleia and had a mixed experience. The service was good and the staff was attentive and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was okay with many options to choose from, which we appreciated. The location is definitely a strong point — it’s close to the boat taxi and half-day boat tours, which makes it very convenient for exploring the area.

the property feels dated and in need of renovation. There is no elevator, which can be inconvenient with luggage. The room was very simple, and although it had a balcony, there was no furniture to actually sit and enjoy it. We booked a room with a view, but it faced a noisy street and, despite being in front of the beach, our view was mostly a wall. The pool area was also underwhelming — small and not very inviting, with a decorative whale on the wall spraying water into the pool, which gave it more of a children’s play area feel. For nearly $200 per night, we felt it was significantly overpriced and not worth even half of that amount. The location is great, but the overall experience did not match the price point.
