J'ai beaucoup apprécié la grande chambre face à l'océan, sa propreté, sa bonne literie. J'ai beaucoup aimé aussi le côté atypique et très original de l'hôtel ainsi que de sa piscine. Rien à dire sur le petit déjeuner parfait et très varié servi dans une belle salle face à l'océan.

L'acceuil du jeune personnel, froid et sans véritable contact, contrairement à l'accueil du personnel plus âgé.

Amazing attentive staff .. so kind and helpful. Very historically interesting accommodations... the views are outstanding and the beach is beautiful. Surfers paradise... The pool area is lively with a lovely lunch spot and is sheltered from the strong winds. The pool itself was clean and refreshing (not heated) and a nice way to spend an afternoon. If you enjoy a cooler weather and the sounds and sights of the ocean waves, this is your place.

The parking is horrendous as the surfing community arrives early and continues into the evening, so beware if you are bringing a car. I found the food disappointing, and the menu lacking .. but our waiter Yuri was charming and made the experience special.

The location by a surfers beach at Praia do Gruincho looking out over dunes & the Atlantic was a treat. We had a large room & large comfy bed.

Ist impressions! On arrival we were greeted by a surly character aka a hotel Car Park Attendant growling something that we didn't understand that required us to check in before being granted access. Having been built in the 60's & being still there it looked in need of considerable TLC in all areas, especially the windows, designed no doubt to offer sea views but alas were so dirty both inside & outside that we thought there was a constant sea mist! The bar area in particular had a retro charm as did all other areas. Bedrooms were basic but adequate. Furniture was minimal with just a hanging rail with a few hangers. Net curtains were torn & in places had come away from fixings. Wallpaper was proped up in corner by a chair! There were no frills other than a TV, air con and a few bathroom basics & old soiled & torn towels. We had a Dune View room with balcony which also needed TLC. It was pretty grotty. Whilst this may have once been a magnet for celebrities (Photo's everywhere) The hotel is still there, but the celebrities have long gone!
