North Stafford Hotel

Directly opposite the train station so really convenient location. Room was basic but well presented and clean, big shower, comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast buffet with hot and cold food. Very reasonably priced. Polite and friendly staff at reception desk.

A second pillow would have been nice

I travelled to Stoke by train with my teenage daughter. The hotel is so conveniently located, being immediately across the road from the train station. It is a Grade II listed building and maintains much of its old English charm. Though the rooms are not modern, they have everything you need and are cosy and comfortable. We couldn't hear any noise from our room (located at the back of the hotel). The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We were the last to arrive for breakfast in the morning, but the staff went out of their way to ensure that we were well looked after. I can't thank them enough!

The location of the room was good, although there was no view to speak of; the location of the hotel was excellent. The staff were superb. The hotel is from a bygone era and it felt a privilege to be there; the historical pictures are very interesting. Very good public transport links: you can purchase a day ticket (currently £8.50) for the buses.

Stoke offers little in the way of restaurants as far as I could see. The hotel is missing a trick, in that only one of its restaurants was available to dine in. I was very surprised that tea was not available at breakfast, although it was in the room that I stayed in along with coffee.

Did not have it

Do not charge for parking or make clear that you have to pay extra for the parking. Do not send irritating emails concerning checking in online and you’ve already agreed to prepaid and paid when arriving very irritating. and could cause older people a lot of stress and worry unnecessarily and unhelpful.
