Lodge public areas were great. Cozy. Location near railroad was great. Staff was outstanding including reception, chefs. Major disappointment was lack of at least adjoining beds. We created our own way to overcome this, but I understand owners planning to redo. I would consider how to make it possible for twins side by side, or full bed. Or make VERY clear that a couple would be sleeping at right angles to each other. With no restaurants except at hotel, evening meals should not be the same menu everyday. Also think not having either in room coffee or a coffee/tea station in public area forces the need to purchase something so basic (not referring to specialty lattes, etc.). With the cost of the room for the room calibre, basic coffee/tea certainly seems warranted. It almost feels like without on-site lunch, you are essentially forced to purchase one of the boards or fika/coffee. This just feels like “nickel and diming” your guests. Would I stay here again? Yes, because your staff is outstanding.

Everything was excellent except the location of my room. The staff was nice, accommodation’s location very good and the breakfast was a really good quality.

The only thing I disliked was the location of my room and sadly it was a bigger issue. The room was situated next to the main entrance: if you didn’t keep the curtain closed, everyone could see inside the room even though there is a privacy layer covering a part of the window. But even worse was the noise. In the evenings the music from the lobby/bar got right inside the room. Well, I would have fared with that, but in the night loud conversations and even shouting in the bar and outside the building near the entrance (one night was a Saturday and people were having a good time) could not be escaped. It was super annoying, because the partying obviously got louder after 11 pm. As I told the staff as I was checking out of the accommodation, I don’t think that the room (number 17) is really suitable for accommodating guests for these reasons. Maybe in a “party hostel” or if I was paying 20 € per night, but not in the price category that this room is. If I was a braver person, I would have asked for a monetary compensation as I was giving this feedback to the staff as I was leaving. All in all, I think Abisko Mountain Lodge is a great place to stay: just stay clear of the room number 17. And as I told to the staff member during the check out: I really think that you shouldn’t have that room for guests. It would serve well as a maintenance room or a “pay less and get less privacy and soundproofing” room, but selling it as a normal room for accommodation is, in my honest opinion, not civil.

Great location, only a 10-minute drive to the national park, with a supermarket nearby for easy shopping. The common area was cozy and offered hot water. Although the room had simple bunk beds, both the beds and duvets were very comfortable to sleep in.

The price was a bit on the expensive side.

Le personnel était au dessus de toutes attentes. Nous avons rencontré un pépin médical lors de notre séjour, et le personnel a été très compréhensif et soutenant. Nous avons pu facilement prolonger notre séjour, et cerise sur le gâteau, juste avant notre départ nos enfants ont reçu un petit cadeau de la part du propriétaire pour les féliciter de leur courage. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !
