We arrived quite late, at around 8 pm. Unfortunately, it took us quite a while to find our cabin, as the place was not very easy to navigate in the dark.
When we finally found what we thought was our cabin we were very surprised to find that someone was already staying there. The cabin number was correct and we later confirmed it many times with the reception on the phone. Then we were told to try the cabin next door. I knocked there as well — and there were people inside that one too! At that point I felt like an intruder, knocking on the doors of two occupied cabins.
It seemed that someone had accidentally moved into the cabin we had booked, and there had been some confusion with the cabin assignments that the cabin manager was not aware of. Luckily, some staff from the café were still there and helped us sort everything out. We were eventually given another cabin.
However, after moving all our things inside, we discovered that the stove was not working. By then it was already quite late, we were exhausted after a long drive, and we had to call the manager again. Same staff member came over, confirmed that the stove was indeed broken, and we then had to move all our belongings once again to a third cabin.
So my main advice would be: try to arrive and check in early. There is no regular reception available late in the evening, and if something goes wrong with your cabin, it can be quite stressful trying to sort everything out when you are already tired and it is cold and dark outside. Our problems were eventually solved with the staff’s help, but I would definitely recommend not leaving check-in until too late.
