We stayed at Chankam Boutique Hotel for 10 days and had a truly exceptional experience from beginning to end. The hotel’s location is ideal, within easy walking distance of markets, great restaurants, and plenty of massage studios right nearby. Breakfast was consistently excellent, fresh, and health-focused, which we really appreciated. What truly made our stay special, however, was the staff. Every team member was kind, professional, and remarkably attentive to detail. They genuinely went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. Our room was extremely comfortable and impeccably clean every single day. Again, special kudos to the entire staff team, you are truly outstanding and deserve the highest praise. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Chankam Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Beautifully decorated boutique hotel, richly adorned with Thai cultural ornaments (plenty to like about). Located at the North-East side of the Old-Town, walkable to places of interest. Hosted by a nice & ever helpful manager, Nok and the courteous staff. We (family of 4) booked the spacious Family Suite which is the entire top floor consisting of 2 ensuite bedrooms, living room with daybed, kitchen and balcony with view. More space than we need. Just wish to share a memorable moment, made possible with the kind help of Nok! We checked into Chankam on the last day of 2025. Not having any plan at all, at 5:30pm we went down to the reception desk to see Nok for tips for NY’s eve things to do. While chatting, we saw a leaflet advertising the famous ‘Chiang Mai CAD Fireworks & Lanterns NY Countdown event’, something that we always wished to experience. Esp the lanterns release! To attend this event, one needs to plan/time the visit accordingly, purchase the tickets in advance and make own way to the meeting point by 7:30pm to be transported (last bus is 8pm) to the event location which is some 1.5 hrs outside of Chiang Mai city. We were resigning to the fact that it was logistically too late for us to be able to make it. However Nok made a phone call to the hotel owner who did some magic to secure the tickets and grasping the ‘dire’ situation, kindly offered to transport us directly using the hotel van, availing Nok and the cook as the driver. We were so happy & relieved to learn that both Nok & the driver were also given tickets to attend & enjoy together with us. Against ALL odds, we were on the event ground enjoying the pre-event dinner (numerous yummy Thai food stalls) at 7:40pm!!! followed by watching the traditional Lanna performances leading to experiencing the memorable/magical lanterns releasing moments amongst the dazzling colourful fireworks.

Lack of understanding/ proficiency in hotel hospitality disciplines perhaps? One uncomfortable incident occurred just after we checked in. When upon the phone-request for a box of tissues, to our astonishment the room service staff knocked on and opened the door and walked right in. Pointing and opening the drawer where the tissue box was. We have to explain to the staff that upon knocking, they have to wait to be let in as the room has been occupied by guests. Upon our notification, manager Nok apologized profusely as she didn’t think her staff would do that. For the rest of the stay, all was good – the staff were careful and attentive. Nothing serious – all this can be improved with training and directions. Still strongly recommending this hotel though!

Great location. Room 304 was nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. We had a good sleep over the six nights. The lift always seemed very fast and available.

Breakfast downstairs in the restaurant area didn’t work for us; the fountain was so loud it was like someone was running a bath! Also, we kept getting attacked by mosquitoes as the whole of the front of the reception area is left open. We chose to have the rest of our breakfasts in our room which was lovely.
