Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin

Good location, close to the characterful pub centre of Dublin. 24 of us stayed & everyone love it. Breakfast was excellent 10/10

Easy check in to a well appointed room. Breakfast amazing with friendly helpful staff. Brilliant location to discover Dublin.

The staff was great . Extremely kind and considerate. Truly welcoming.

No quality control on rooms and fixing issues. The room was multiple hundred os dollars a night so these were disappointing problems for a nice hotel . I sent them the same list via the app. Copy and paste below >Small gnats and a swampy smell comes out of the shower drain. Not all the time, but periodically wafts through. Disgusting!!! >The sink in the bathroom (near toilet does not work!! Luckily I have 2 more. But that is lazy maintenance. Didn’t you clean it before I arrived and noticed the water doesn’t flow out of the spigot?!?! >The floorboards have weak spots and are warped in places. Pinches your socks. Especially between bed and wall mounted TV >I tried twice to run a hot bath but the water barely flows and the water was luke warm at best. What’s the point of having it if you can’t use it. Extra:Please get a microwave so I can heat my water for tea, without having to water through the coffee machine. The water came out brown the first time I used it. Didn’t know if it was rust/dust or old coffee remnants

On arrival, we checked in and awaited room to be ready which was fine as we were 15 minutes early. When the room was ready we were handed the key and there was no explaining of hotel facilities or breakfast times/location or info on the hotel at all just handed to key with the room number - figured out what floor etc ourselves Drainage smell in room due to a drain being open in the shower - the whole room smelled vile and we had to open the balcony door to eleviate some of the smell. Called reception and maintenance came closed drain and sprayed air freshener which resolved the problem. We were not offered any apology for this , just told on the phone when called that it was strange. Ordered drinks at the bar to be sent to the room and after nearly half an hour had to ring for them as they were forgotten about. Bed was small for a junior suite, shower was small and noisy due to the large metal drain directly under the shower although there was a big bathroom with 3 sinks, toilet was crammed behind the door. Lighting was poor in the room - dark - even in the bathroom which made getting ready for the evening difficult. Although the hotel itself was lovely and staff were extremely nice, the value for money was not good in regards to the room. Extremely overpriced for what is provided. In addition to an expensive room, parking charge of 20 euro for the night was additional which i thought was expensive and perhaps should of been included in the price we paid for the junior suite with balcony. Unsure if i would stay again as feels a bit of a rip off.
