Olga's House

Olga’s house was in a perfect central location, and both the room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The shower was small but manageable. There are four flights of stairs, which were a bit tough but okay if you’re fit, although better lighting would help. The main downside was the confusing lock system for the 3 doors just to get into the apartment. The room lock was especially frustrating; the app didn’t work and the code didn’t work either, and we ended up stuck outside for up to 1 hour multiple times, which was really inconvenient. I would definitely book this again

The location of the accommodation is truly unbeatable! It’s right next to the Leather Market, and you can reach all the major attractions in 5–15 minutes. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for a 5-day trip. Our room was on the side morning sun‘s side, so it was always pleasantly cool when we came back in the afternoon, and if not, there was air conditioning. We had a few problems with the door lock and a leaking washbasin, but someone from Olga’s House was always available and, when necessary, on site within 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, we had major problems with the automatic door lock. At first, it wouldn’t close, and throughout the whole trip we were only able to open the door via our mobile phones perhaps 2 or 3 times, all the other times we had to use the physical key. The rooms are on the 3rd floor and you have to climb 80 steps to get there. We would therefore not recommend this room to anyone who has difficulty walking or who has a lot of luggage or heavy bags. The windows are also quite thin, which means it can get quite noisy at night if there are people out partying. However, it was only a problem on one night, and even then only for an hour. Nevertheless, this accommodation isn’t suitable for people who are sensitive to noise.

The location, close to the Uffizi Gallery was perfect.

The 80 steps to reach the room. The impersonal nature of the stay. The step inside the room that I tripped on three times. The lack of adequate socket for the kettle. The stress caused by the outside door access, when the 0 hardly ever worked. (access to the property itself was great) No coffee machine, which most Italian places offer. The excellent location makes up for these faults, but it's no excuse to disrespect visitors.
